i love christmas. sometimes i don't want to admit it, with all the hype...i realized this year that i actually do like christmas songs, but i must just get sick of them most years.
people are always nicer around the holidays, too. that's part of the reason i like this time of year. sometimes i wonder though, why people can't be nicer all the time. there is one anonymous person that i really appreciate, though, who has brightened my day way before it started getting cold. on willy street, the same guy stands in front of a coffee shop and waves at every car passing by. after the first big snow, he was standing on top of a huge pile of snow at 7 in the morning, smiling and waving. now that's what i call friendly! :D
other year-round nice people: the checkout clerks at both trader joe's and copp's on fish hatchery. now, the people at these stores are nice in different ways...at trader joe's, they start up a conversation with you about what you're buying (with me, it's usually wine, so they ask if i'm going to a party or stocking up. haha) whereas at copp's, they are usually just joking around with each other and with you. it's great at both.
alright, enough of my blathering. i'm going to snuggle under my new electric blanket (compliments of my wonderful boyfriend, tony!) and pet my kitty, mia!
