so, i had to drop off one of those dollar rental movie things at walmart for rebecca yesterday. i decided to check out what they had for craft supplies to supplement the project mentioned in my previous blog. i'll admit it: walmart scares me. a lot. especially this one.
it was built within the past couple of years, and it's so huge and warehouse-y feeling, that it makes me want to have an anxiety attack. there's an underground parking garage and escalators and elevators to bring you up to the store. what's more: there's a cart escalator! sheesh!
i know there's an entire website devoted to the people who frequent walmart, but i guess it was a shock to my system, since i have been around many very sharp people lately. when i was checking out, the girl at the register recognized the guy behind me, and said "hey, it's been a whole day! how are ya?" i looked back, and the guy definitely needed a shower, and was chomping on some pizza. what?!
i used to shop walmart all the time in college...probably because it was the only store like that in town (i don't think beloit has a target or anything)....now i wonder how i did it. i'm getting more and more used to shopping online, i guess! i can handle giant stores when they're online! ;)
so, what i took from this is that not only am i not excited about going there ever again, but, as olivia said: if there were ever a zombie attack, it would most definitely start at walmart!
