mod podging it up!

alright....so, this past weekend, i got some new mod podge (after tony stepped on my old stuff and created a contained explosion), and decided to try out some of the ideas that i have been toying with in my head.

friday night, i mod podged a bracelet:

i used one page from national geographic (i scored a bunch from a lady on freecycle cleaning out her garage), and just wrapped and glued strips around the bracelet and mod podged over it.  the thing i love about mod podge is that it impresses people, looks awesome, yet is SO easy to do!

and here's what i did in about 5 minutes yesterday:

i've been jealous when i hear that people have gone on vacation, so i decided that maybe i should put any extra cash i have in my pockets into a box, so that over time, i can afford it!  this is just a checkbook box that i mod podged once again with a national geographic image. no layering or anything...i usually like to layer different designs on top of each other, but this picture was so vibrant by itself.  i had leftover letters from our 'pimp cup' project (haha), so i put "vaca" on there to remind me not to take the money back out! :)

let me know what you think (and definitely give me suggestions if you have them!)

thanks for stopping by, holly! i don't have a follow button because not many people read my blog! haha...i'll add one, and make sure to update with more crafts i do. i haven't seen the mod podge rocks blog, surprisingly enough...i'm kind of addicted to craft blogs, and have been loving the mod podge for about 10 years now.

LOVE the bracelets! Nat.Geo. pictures have the most amazing colors and textures when you chop them up like that! Makes me want to pull out my new bottle of Mod Podge (thanks to Amy Anderson at Plaid!).

thanks, linda! yeah, i've been on a mod podging streak lately. i really like the look of using pages from national geographic, so i'm glad i got a ton of old ones for free!

i'll be posting more crafts soon!

thanks, pam! i actually got the idea for the bracelet from a different blog...so it wasn't something i came up with all by myself. i'm glad it's inspiring, though! :)
