travel in (creative) style! :)

so, a few years back, i had the idea to paint a suitcase. and then i forgot about it....until i read the Crafty Chica blog about it a year or so ago. "oh yeah...", i thought, "that was something i had been thinking about doing!"

before my trip to california last july, i decided to go for it.  at first, i just borrowed my friend, cassie's homemade foo fighter stencil, which she had previously used on shirts. it was a massive fail. i was probably using it wrong.  anyway, i had a big blob of white paint on my black suitcase, so i decided to spread it out and then paint something over it.  a while before, i had painted an image i found online onto an end table, and really liked it (kitty + sunset + a lot of red = happiness to me). so know that this design is NOT mine, because i'm not good at painting things from the top of my head. hehe!

here's how my suitcase turned out:

now i don't have to worry about mixing up luggage! :)

i haven't put any type of sealer on it, though....any suggestions? it got (checked) to california and back, and has been in the bottom of a greyhound-type bus, but i'm still afraid of it getting scratched up!
